Today, Marian Fuchs and Jacob Kijne and I went to Cantoctin Mountain Orchard, in Thurmond MD, near the PA line on Route 15, and brought back a half bushel of “seconds” peaches. Of course, “seconds” are really “firsts” in terms of flavor, they just require rapid consumption (sadly or not, depending on how you look at it). We offered them to one and all in the Clocktower. Not surprisingly, almost all were gone by the end of dinner.
The resulting photo gallery is titled “Joy Of Peaches,” as well it should be. Anyone have any suggestions for captions or “thought bubbles?”
